Dar
es Salaam. Hennessy, the world’s number one selling cognac, has announced today
a partnership with Dar Es Salaam Serena Hotel to join forces in the
celebration of Brazilian Week starting tomorrow (September 18) at the Dar Es
Salaam Serena.
The
Brazilian Week is a celebration of Brazilian culture and part of a month long
celebration by the Brazilian Embassy to commemorate Brazil’s 190th year of
independence which was observed on 7th September 2012.
The
Brazilian Week celebration is part of a larger effort by the Embassy of Brazil
in Tanzania to foster cultural ties and understanding between the
Brazilian and Tanzanian people. Visitors to the Brazil Week festivities at the
Serena can expect to be treated to a fresh menu of authentic Brazilian food
with many of the ingredients being flown in from Mozambique.
Also
being flown in to the event is the band Grupo Raiz from Brazil which
will entertain guests all evening with Brazilian music. Guests will be greeted
with a choice of complimentary Hennessy welcome drinks specially mixed for this
occasion all with a Brazilian theme.
“We
see this as a great opportunity for Hennessy to be involved with bringing
cultures and ultimately people together“ said Omar Salisbury, Marketing Manager
for Qway International, the exclusive agents for Moet-Hennessy. “The brand
Hennessy has been bringing people together for nearly 250 years and we see this
as a dynamic opportunity for people in Tanzania to experience authentic
Brazilian culture, cuisine, and music as well as some very unique Hennessy
cocktails that are being mixed specially for this event” added Salisbury.
The
Brazil Week celebrations will run from Tuesday September 18th to
Saturday September 22nd from 7pm to 10pm in the Serengeti
Restaurant at the Dar Es Salaam Serena Hotel.
